KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shuttler Bao Chunlai will meet Danish Peter Gade in the Malaysia Open men's singles final here on Sunday.
Bao secured his final berth when his teammate Chen Hong walked over in the match on Saturday, while Gade beat his countryman Kennenth Jonassen 21-15, 16-21, 21-11.
China's Zhu Ling won her place in the women's singles final after defeating Yao Jie from the Netherlands 21-8, 21-11. She will face Wong Mew Choo from Malaysia in the final on Sunday.
In the women's doubles, defending champions Gao Ling/Huang Sui of China beat Hwang Yu Mi/Kim Min Jung of South Korea 21-19, 21-10. They will encounter Greysa Polii/Vita Marissa of Indonesia on Sunday.
The Indonesian duo rallied to beat Japanese Kumiko Ogura/Reiko Shiota 20-22, 21-17, 21-13.
In the mixed doubles, China's Zheng Bo/Gao Ling beat Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir from Indonesia 21-8, 21-9. They will compete with Gail Emms/Nathan Robertson from England for the top honor in the event.
Malaysia's Doha Asian Games champions Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong advanced to the men's doubles final after beating Indonesian Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan in the semifinals.
The Malaysian pair won their battle 21-19, 21-16 in 29 minutes and they will face the American/Indonesian combination, Tony Gunawan and Candra Wijaya, in the final.
Gunawan/Wijaya, the 2000 Olympic champions, were given a walk-over by their opponents, Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae of South Korea.
